Alittle information about yours truely.
 Well,
my name is Tony, and while I am not that old (38 y.o), At
least when it comes to the computers & Internet world, I do
consider myself an Old-timer. I began my romance with
computers around 1980 , and built my first Modem in 1983
when I was only 12.5 y.o. I Owned and experienced many
computer types, From Texas instruments , Sinclair ,
Commodore , Atari , Dragon , Apple , Macintosh , Amiga , and
Finally PCs (so called IBM compatibles)
I started building direct communication systems and BBSs
back in the early 80's,
and later , expanded to world wide computer communications.
First through Packet radio systems , and later through
X.25 packet networks which around 10 years later has become
what we now call the Internet.
I Matured together with the technology...While my first
computer had around 2Kb ram , and my first modem was 300bps
which took a whole minute just to transfer a page of text, I
kept learning and upgrading...I probably switched through
over 10 different modem technology's , from Analog 300 bps
to 1200, to 2400 , 9600 , 14400 , 19200, 28800 , 33600,
56000 and than to Digital ISDN 64000 , 128000 bps and to
today's Cable and DSL technology's. And I went through
around 20 different computers and operating systems from Dos
, Linux , Mac OS, Amiga OS , Windows and many others.
Amazingly , my first computer job was at the age of 14 !
where I worked as sales person of computers for a large
distributor. (I can still remember customers reaction when
they saw a little kid trying to sell them a $4,000
computer.. :-) yes computers were expensive than)
Later , I began my own business Distributing Modems, and
building integrated systems , I started a Hosting business
and moved to building and selling higher end communication
systems for ISPs and TelCo's.
In between I also played with VoIP systems and Video
conferencing,
and eventually beside running my own Internet business , I
became a sort of consultant for many Internet start-ups and
companies.
I have technical knowledge in Both Hardware and Software.
I have many years of experience writing software ,
developing websites and managing servers.
I am married and have 4 kids.
